»In accustomed manner, Jacques Marie Mage creates exclusive reminiscences to significant personalities of contemporary history. Stanley Kubrick is undisputedly one of the most celebrated directors of our time. Jerome Mage was also inspired by him through his films - in his youth and now for the two exclusive eyewear models. While the "1980" is a modern as well as architectural interpretation of the classic aviator glasses that Kubrick often wore while filming The Shining and Full Metal Jacket, the "1948" is based on a model that accompanied the young Stanley Kubrick in his creative early years.«

Stanley Kubrick

Before he began creating cinematic masterpieces, a young Stanley Kubrick honed his love of visual narrative as a staff photographer for Look magazine, shooting everything from dramatic portraits of boxer Walter Cartier to celebrity profiles of Frank Sinatra.

Amid the anxieties and grand excesses of the 1980s, Stanley Kubrick focused on dark narratives with aggravated language and violence, creating films that exemplified the director's technical virtuosity and dynamic style. This resulted in masterpieces such as The Shining (1980) and Full Metal Jacket (1987).
